Clare Arbuthnott RSW is a contemporary Scottish artist based in Edinburgh, renowned for her vibrant landscape and floral paintings. Clare studied at Leith School of Art and Cumbria Collage of Art and has served as a lecturer at Gray’s School of Art. Her landscape paintings try to capture something of the changeable nature of our Scottish climate with lively brushstrokes and rich colour.  Her paintings often revisit significant locations, reflecting a deep personal connection to the landscape she portrays. She grew up in the varied landscape of The Mearns and maintains a strong connection with it despite now being based in Edinburgh.

 

Clare exhibits extensivelyacross the UK and her work on paper is collected internationally.  She has exhibited with the RSW, SSA, VAS and RSA.
