Born in Glasgow, Jim Livingstone studied at Gray’s School of Art from 1972-1977.

‘Over the past few years, I have undertaken several painting trips to various places throughout Scotland.

My paintings often begin as sketches and small brush drawings made on location. Escaping from the comfort of the studio enables me to connect more fully with the landscape. This en-plein-air approach hopefully enables me to capture some of the vitality of the sketches'.

Jim continues to live and work in Aberdeenshire.
