Victoria Broxton

Painting/ Drawing/ Performance

Victoria is a multi-disciplinary artist who graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2000, 2003 and more recently, with an MSc in Medical Art in 2014.

Flitting between representational paintings and more abstract gestural drawings, her images of nude figures emerge in vacant spaces without a definitive narrative. Often with obscured or hidden faces, this places emphasis on the gesture itself to convey the overall emotion.

The painting or drawing is only a starting point to lead the viewer into thinking about the human body on a less superficial level. 

Victoria has begun to exhibit across Scotland and her work is now held in private collections throughout the UK, as well as France and Australia.
